External employees - delete and deactivate
This page describes how to delete or deactivate an external employee, the consequences of each action, and how to recover a deleted employee.
How to delete an external employee
Section titled “How to delete an external employee”- Go to CAE → External employees.
- Select the record you want to delete and click the Delete icon.
- The programme displays a message with the implications of the action.
- Click Yes to confirm.
Consequences of deleting an external employee
Section titled “Consequences of deleting an external employee”| Area | Action |
|---|---|
| External company | The employee’s assignment is automatically set to inactive. The next day it is permanently deleted. |
| Employee | Immediately becomes Inactive. The programme sets the End date of the assignment to one day before the day the action is performed. The Coordinations as external employee and Subcontracting tabs disappear from the detail screen. The next day, the employee is permanently deleted. |
| Coordinations | The employee is automatically unassigned. |
| Subcontracting | The employee is automatically unassigned. |
| Document requirements | They become inactive a few minutes after deletion. |
How to recover a deleted external employee
Section titled “How to recover a deleted external employee”It is only possible to recover a deleted external employee if the action was performed on the same day.

Go to CAE → External employees and enter the external employee in question.

In the Assignments tab, select the filter View active on the Inactive status type and enter the record.

Clear the contents of the End date field, click Accept and then Save.
How to deactivate an external employee
Section titled “How to deactivate an external employee”- Go to CAE → External employees → enter the employee you want to deactivate.
- Go to the Assignments tab and open the corresponding record.
- Enter the date the employee stops belonging to the external company in the End date field, click Accept and then Save.
Consequences of deactivating an external employee
Section titled “Consequences of deactivating an external employee”| Area | Action |
|---|---|
| External company | The employee becomes inactive for the external company. |
| Employee | The employee’s assignments to this external company are directly deactivated. |
| Coordinations | The employee is unassigned from the coordinations. |
| Subcontracting | Not applicable. |
| Document requirements | The employee’s coordination and subcontracting documents are deactivated immediately. |
