How to assign roles in Dashboards
The roles in the Dashboards module can be assigned in two different ways depending on the scope of the information the user should have:
- Global roles: the user has permissions in Dashboards for all scopes, without restrictions.
- Roles by scope: the user has permissions restricted to the indicated scope.
How to assign global roles
Section titled “How to assign global roles”- Access SmartOSH and select Settings > Users.
- Enter the user to whom you want to assign the roles.
- Select the Global roles tab and click Link.
- Select the role (or roles) and click Accept.
- Click Save.
How to assign roles by scope
Section titled “How to assign roles by scope”- Access SmartOSH and select Settings > Users.
- Enter the user to whom you want to assign the roles.
- Select the Roles by scope tab and click New.
- Select the scope to which the assigned role should refer and check the corresponding boxes.
- Click Link, select the role (or roles) and click Accept on the role screen.
- Click Accept on the scope permission screen.
- Click Save.
Role behaviour
Section titled “Role behaviour”The following specifies only the accesses to the Dashboards module.
Dashboards - View
Section titled “Dashboards - View”Allows access to the module in view-only mode.
- Does not allow creating records.
- The display of the content of each dashboard depends on the specific roles of the referenced module.
Dashboards - Modification
Section titled “Dashboards - Modification”Allows access to the module and some modification actions.
- Allows creating objectives.
- Allows creating a new dashboard.
- Allows viewing the distribution of dashboards.
- Allows making changes to the dashboard definition.
- The display of content depends on the specific roles of the underlying module.
Dashboards - Editing
Section titled “Dashboards - Editing”Allows access to the module and editing actions on data sources.
- Allows creating objectives.
- Allows creating a new dashboard and copying an existing one.
- Allows viewing the distribution of dashboards.
- Allows making changes to the definition of the dashboard.
- The display of content depends on the specific roles of the underlying module.
