Questionnaire Dashboard by Activity
The Questionnaires by Activity dashboard allows you to analyse, question by question and answer by answer, how a specific questionnaire has been answered in each activity. It is the same type of detailed analysis as the questionnaires by company and centre dashboard, but here the answers are distributed by activity instead of by organisational structure, so you can compare how each activity responds to each question.
You will only see data from the companies, centres, sections and positions you have access to according to your user profile. Two different people may see different figures in the same dashboard, and that is expected.
Key Concepts
Section titled “Key Concepts”You choose a template first. This dashboard analyses one single questionnaire model at a time. At the top you must select the questionnaire template you want to study; from there, the entire screen shows the detail of the answers to the questions of that template, distributed by activity.
The unit of analysis is the answer. Each questionnaire is “opened” into its questions and answers. That is why the numbers you see are counts of answers to questions, not of complete questionnaires.
Correct, incorrect and not applicable answers. Each answer to a question can be correct, incorrect or marked as not applicable when the question is not relevant in that case. The dashboard breaks down, for each possible answer option, how many times it has been chosen and what portion of them were correct, incorrect or not applicable.
Only answered questions are counted. The counts only take into account questions that have actually been answered. Questions that are just titles or separators within the questionnaire are not counted.
Active elements. The analysis only considers active activities.
Scope permissions. The dashboard only includes questionnaires from the companies, centres and sections you have access to. That is why two users with different permissions may see different figures.
Chained filters. All filters are applied simultaneously to the analysis table. If you select an activity, a question or a period, the detail is recalculated only with the answers that meet those criteria.
Filters
Section titled “Filters”On the left side and at the top you will find the filters. Most allow multiple selection and include a search box. Remember that, additionally, at the top you must choose the questionnaire template you want to analyse.
| Filter | What it allows you to narrow down |
|---|---|
| Activity | The activity, in tree form. It is the main filter of this dashboard. |
| Questionnaire responsible | The answers from questionnaires completed by a specific person. |
| Questionnaire category | The answers from questionnaires of a specific category. |
| Questionnaire template | The questionnaire model being analysed. |
| Questionnaire | A specific questionnaire, by its code and title. |
| Observed employee | The answers from questionnaires completed about a specific employee. |
| External company | The answers from questionnaires completed about a specific external company. |
| Project | Questionnaires associated with a specific project. |
| Tag | Questionnaires marked with a specific tag. |
| Submission date | The time period, according to the questionnaire submission date. |
| Question from the questionnaire | A specific question from the questionnaire. |
| Question group | The questions of a specific group within the questionnaire. |
Table: Analysis by activities
Section titled “Table: Analysis by activities”This is the main element of the dashboard. It is a cross table (pivot table type) that, in the rows, displays the template, each question and each of its possible answer options, and in the columns, the activity. At each intersection it shows how that option was answered in that activity.
For each answer option and each activity, the table offers these value columns:
| Column | What it shows | How it is calculated |
|---|---|---|
| Answers (number) | How many times that answer option was chosen. | Count of answers given with that option. |
| Answers (%) | The weight of that option within its question. | Answers with that option ÷ total answers given to that question. |
| Correct (number) | How many of those answers were correct. | Count of correct answers with that option. |
| Correct (%) | What percentage of correct answers that option represents. | Correct answers with that option ÷ total answers given to that question. |
| Incorrect (number) | How many of those answers were incorrect. | Count of incorrect answers with that option. |
| Incorrect (%) | What percentage of incorrect answers that option represents. | Incorrect answers with that option ÷ total answers given to that question. |
| Not applicable (number) | How many of those answers were marked as not applicable. | Count of not applicable answers with that option. |
| Not applicable (%) | What percentage of not applicable answers that option represents. | Not applicable answers with that option ÷ total answers given to that question. |
The percentage columns are accompanied by coloured bars that make it easier to compare, at a glance, how each activity responds to each question.
Frequently Asked Questions
Section titled “Frequently Asked Questions”How is this dashboard different from the questionnaires by company and centre one?
The analysis is the same (the detail of the answers to each question), but here the results are distributed by activity instead of by company, centre and section. Use it when you want to compare how each activity responds to the same questionnaire.
Why do I have to choose a template before seeing data?
Because this dashboard analyses the detail of the answers of a single questionnaire model at a time. Until you select the template at the top, there is no specific set of questions to analyse.
Why do the percentages for a question add up to 100% per column?
Because each percentage is calculated with respect to the total answers given to that question in that activity.
Why does an activity I expected not appear?
The analysis only takes into account active activities and only those within your scope permissions.
Why do my figures not match those of a colleague?
The dashboard applies each user’s scope permissions: only questionnaires from the companies, centres and sections you have access to are included.
