CAE Validation Dashboard

The CAE Validations dashboard offers you an overview of the document validation work within the coordination of business activities: how many documents have been accepted, rejected, or marked as “not applicable”, who has managed them, and how this activity evolves over time.

You will only see data from the companies and sites you have access to according to your user profile. Two different people may see different figures on the same dashboard, and this is expected.

Before reviewing each element, it is useful to clarify several concepts used throughout the dashboard.

Validation of a document. The unit of measurement is the document managed within a CAE coordination: each time a document sent is accepted, rejected, or marked as “not applicable”, it counts as one management. Each document is counted only once.

Validation result. Each managed document is classified into one of these three results:

ResultMeaning
AcceptedThe document has been reviewed and accepted.
RejectedThe document has been rejected.
Not applicableThe document was not necessary (cancelled or marked as not applicable).

How “not applicable” is counted. “Not applicable” groups three situations: cancelled documents marked as not applicable, documents cancelled with the reason “not applicable”, and needs marked directly as not applying to the operation. In the cards and the gauge, “not applicable” includes all three; in the table by validator and in the evolution chart only the first two are counted (those coming from a validation).

Validator. The person who has performed the acceptance or rejection of the document.

Scope permissions. The dashboard only includes documents from the coordinations of the companies and sites you have access to. Therefore, two users with different permissions may see different figures.

Chained filters. All filters are applied simultaneously to all charts, cards, and tables.

On the left side you will find the filters. Most allow multiple selection and include a search box.

FilterWhat it allows you to narrow down
Main companyDocuments from certain own companies.
External companyDocuments from certain external companies (contractors or subcontractors).
CAE projectDocuments from a specific coordination project.
ValidatorDocuments managed by a specific person.
DateThe time period, according to the date of the last management of the document.

The summary block shows four cards:

  • Total documents: total documents managed (accepted + rejected + not applicable).
  • Accepted documents: those accepted.
  • Rejected documents: those rejected.
  • Not applicable documents: those marked as not applicable.

Lists each validator with details of the documents they have managed.

ColumnWhat it showsHow it is calculated
Validator nameThe person who managed the documents.
Total documentsDocuments managed by that person.Count of unique documents.
Accepted documentsThose accepted.Count of accepted documents.
Rejected documentsThose rejected.Count of rejected documents.
Not applicable documentsThose marked as not applicable.Count of “not applicable” derived from a validation.

A semicircular gauge shows the percentage that each result represents of the total: percentage of accepted, rejected, and not applicable.

Shows how the documents accepted, rejected, and not applicable evolve month by month, according to the date of their last management. It is useful to see the validation pace over time.

Why does the “not applicable” in the table not match that in the cards?
Because they are not calculated the same way: the cards and gauge also include documents marked as “not applicable to the operation”, while the table by validator and the evolution chart only count the “not applicable” coming from a validation.

What date is used in the date filter and in the evolution chart?
The date of the last management (modification) of the document, not its creation date.

Why do my figures not match those of a colleague?
The dashboard applies the scope permissions of each user: only documents from the companies and sites you have access to are included.
